COPES-SA gave counselling to 550 clients in 2005, of which 154 (28%) received intense therapy consisting of at least six half-hour sessions of counselling and/or medical assessment. This is almost a 3-fold increase from the previous financial year 2004, where 55 clients received intense psychotherapy. In 2006, COPES-SA gave counselling to 440 clients, 70 of which needed intense counselling, and the intern psychologist who had been with us in 2005 had left.
